Who We Are

Every member of our team has a tonne of experience when it comes to animal care. Not only do all of our members of staff have pets of their own, but they also have a Level 3 qualification in Animal Care. Take a look at each team member's bio to find out more about their animal expertise...

Amye

I started working part time at The Pet Shop when I was sixteen and have been full time for 16 years. I have a distinction in Level 3 Animal Care and Management and am hoping to complete a dog nutrition course very soon - I always want to learn more!
I have a real passion for animals and I have kept many as pets including small furries, reptiles, fish and dogs. Currently, I have a grumpy one-eyed Kakariki, fish, Crested Geckos and a dopey Cockapoo called Lando (who you may spot on our social media from time to time!).
I am always happy to help and will do what I can to help people and their wonderful pets!

Shelly

I've worked at The Pet Shop, Sittingbourne, for nearly 10 years. I am Level 3 qualified in Animal Care and Management (I completed my qualification with distinction). Throughout my life I have had a variety of pets. These have included birds - ranging from canaries to African Grey parrots - as well as dogs, fish and bearded dragons. My love of animals and how to care for them correctly has always been what drives me to make sure my knowledge and understanding is current and up-to-date.

Vic and Val

We started the business back in 1982, originally opening a store in Faversham. Over forty years on, the business is still going strong, and is truly a family affair, with both of our daughters involved. Even some of our grandchildren can often be found 'helping' in the shop on a Saturday afternoon!

Although we mostly leave the younger generations to the day-to-day work, Vic still helps out as the delivery driver for our free delivery service.

We are very proud of the business and how it continues to serve the local community with top quality customer care and advice on pet care.

Sally

I started working at The Pet Shop in July 2019. I have a dog called Dexter, a Conure (small parrot) called Petcy, and an axolotl called Carlos. I have had dogs my whole life and my mum used to foster for the RSPCA when I was young. At one point we had five dogs because once the dogs came home to us my mum couldn't let them go! I am an animal lover in general but would say that dogs, birds and tortoises are my favourites.

Natalie

Hi, I'm Natalie. I've worked at The Pet Shop for just over two years and have enjoyed doing my Level 3 qualification in Animal Care, which has really assisted to develop my knowledge of the animals we sell and advise our customers about. I have always had a fondness of dogs in particular, as they were a big part of my childhood. Since working at The Pet Shop, I have developed a great love of all different types of animal, even the ones I never thought I would! I'm friendly and approachable, and will always strive to help where I can (and, if I can't, I'm happy to find someone who can, but I will always try to make sure that next time I will know the answer to that question).

Ashleigh

Hi, I'm Ashleigh. I have been working at The Pet Shop for around 7 years. I've had many different pets over the years, from rats to bearded dragons. I love all animals but dogs are definitely my favourite very lucky to own a lovely but crazy yellow Labrador named Cody. I'm friendly and polite and will always try to help and give guidance on the care of a variety of animals. I have a keen interest to improve my knowledge of animal care further.

Hi, I'm Julie and I volunteer in The Pet Shop. I am a lover of all pets, and a proud and passionate owner of Tooty the tortoise, whom I purchased from The Pet Shop some time ago. I am always happy to help and will always greet you with a smile when you visit!
